Thank you for your interest in hosting your upcoming occasion with Franny’s Farm! We’ve put together the following FAQ’s for your information. We are happy to provide a more customized consultation upon request! Appointments can be made by calling 828-708-5587.
So, what exactly is Franny’s Farm?
Franny’s farm is an active organic farming operation, event venue, and eco-cabin site located on 18-acres in Leicester, NC. Beyond organic farming and caring for our farm animal family, we have worked tirelessly to develop a welcoming, friendly, wholesome and FUN environment fit to host the most special occasions. We welcome the opportunity to share our labor of love, our working farm, for your upcoming event. Please note that the working farm is primarily for aesthetic and educational purposes. When you come to Franny’s Farm you will be up close and personal with the daily lives of our donkey, sheep, lambs, turkeys, chickens, rabbits, and goats!
What are your hours of operation?
Well, we get up at 5am to feed the chickens, thanks to our rooster’s friendly reminder, and we’re typically out toiling on the farm until well past dusk!
What are your "EVENT" hours of operation?
We know that our events can begin as early as 9am and conclude as late as 11pm. Earlier arrival and later departure times may be arranged with advance notice. We only book one event per day. This is to ensure that you are not rushed in anyway. Our objective is that your special event is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
Can we host our ceremony AND reception at Franny’s Farm?
Absolutely. Our venue contains 18 acres of beautiful scenery with gardens, fields, pond, barn and other naturally occurring country-chic scenes. We encourage you to choose the locale(s) for your ceremony & reception that best reflect your ultimate vision. Because we do not currently provide rentals, you are free to design and create with the landscape.
Are we required to use the Recommended Vendors List?
You are permitted to use any vendor that you would like. However, all vendors must be approved prior to working on the property and included on our Event Checklist. Caterers and other food providers must provide proof of ability to cater offsite (certificate) if they are not currently on our Recommended Vendors List. For your convenience we have provided names and contact information of professional, reputable vendors that we’ve worked with in the past. Our preferred onsite event planner, Party Envy, can coordinate your event from rentals and beyond!
What about alcoholic beverages?
Clients are permitted to provide their own alcohol. We require that all alcohol be served under the supervision of a certified bartender, to be provided by Franny’s Farm or through your approved caterer. The cost for a bartender through Franny’s Farm is $25/hour, plus a $200 fee for set-up and clean-up, and includes cups, ice, and basic cocktail napkins. A special event permit is required and instructions to obtain this can be found in our event contract.
Is there a rain location available in the event of bad weather?
With any outdoor event, we do encourage the use of an event tent. We are happy to make arrangements on your behalf for a tent (pricing is situational and determined by the size of the tent). Our cozy barn location is also available and well appointed in the event of ill weather.
What is included with my venue fee?

Included with your rental is:- Access to the Barn, Garden, Pond, Fields and Parking Area
-Option of overnight camping
-Set-up and Tear-down of all Franny’s Farm equipment
-Immaculately landscaped, scenic grounds-Parking lot attendant and Golf Cart upon request
-Host on site at all times for building maintenance and/or access to additional items
-Prep/Bussing Trash Area for caterers
- Cleaning of barn floors & restrooms
-A optional fire in the Barn wood stove or bonfire in our over-sized fire pit and firepit attendant
-(For weddings) One hour rehearsal time weekday before 5pm
(subject to change per event schedule at Franny’s Farm).
Is there anything else I need to provide for my event?
We highly recommend the use of a wedding planning professional for peace of mind. We do require a primary and secondary contact in the event that we need to reach you during event hours, and at least one of these contacts must be available onsite throughout the duration of your event (setup through cleanup). If you are providing alcohol for the event, we require a special event insurance policy which can be obtained through ALE by your event planner (instructions in the event contract) and typically costs $200-$500, depending on the scope and size of your event.
